Hi Balanced Beauties!
Are you guys loving this weather just as much as I am? This chill in the air is giving me ALL of the fall feels. I’ve been loving throwing on a pair of jeans with a sweater (and not sweating) these past few days.
I wanted to share with you guys something that I do daily which helps me keep a positive mindset. In yoga school, my teacher encouraged us to keep a gratitude journal. I have been making a gratitude list/journal ever since! We are all human and we all have good moments and bad moments. If I am having a bad day, or find myself complaining more than normal, I will write up a quick gratitude list of things, places or people in my life that make me happy. This may sound super pointless, but for me, it is the start to turning a negative moment into a positive moment.
Here is how I make my gratitude lists:
I will simply pull up my “notes” app in my I-phone or grab a pen/paper. I will start making a list of things that make me feel blessed or happy. I will write down something as simple as having food to eat on the table that day.
A simple task like this *wakes me up* and is a quick reminder that whatever I am feeling in that moment, will soon pass. I am not saying this will cure all of your problems going on, but it may help you realize that despite that problem or bad day, there is still SOOO much good in your life. Try it out when you are having a bad moment or a bad day and see if your mindset slowly starts to shift.
Speaking of lists; before each season, I will write a checklist of things that I would like to do. These are usually things that bring me joy and happiness. I like to challenge myself to do most of the things on my checklist. So, here is my list of things that I will make time to do this fall season:
1. Drink warm apple cider
2. Cook a Vegetarian Chili (I am a pescatarian so I do not eat meat, but I do eat fish)
3. Sit at a bonfire
4. Go to a Giants football game
5. Go on a haunted hayride
6. Go trick-or-treating with my nieces and nephew (staying forever young!)
7. Go on a hike
8. Go pumpkin/apple picking
9. Go to a halloween party
10. Paint a pumpkin
11. Bake an apple pie
12. Eat an apple cider donut (or 5…)
13. Play an outdoor football game with family
Am I missing anything!? 😉 This list seems REALLY basic, but if it brings me happiness I try to make the time on a Saturday or Sunday to JUST DO IT! My soul will usually thank me 🙂
What are some of your favorite things to do in the fall? Where are some of your favorite farms to visit during the day or at night?
