Hi Balanced Beauties!
It’s Fridayyyy! Wahoo!
As much as I love throwing my hair up and wearing cute yoga pants/workout attire, I equally love to get dressed up from time to time. I find doing my make up and hair to be relaxing (besides when I sneeze while putting on my mascara)..that’s never fun. The allergy struggles are real over here! With that being said, many of you were asking about the hair products that I use and my favorite “go-to” hairstyles.
Quick hair story that forever changed me and my view on hair:
In high school I wanted a haircut like Rachel from Friends (aka Jennifer Aniston, one of my many girl crushes). So, that obviously meant layers on layers, right?! The shorter the layers, the better, right?! NOPE!
I quickly realized this haircut was NOT for me when I had a hair trial for my senior prom. Thankfully, I found my current hair stylist, Giana, who hooked a girl up with some hair extensions which was a total lifesaver. Giana made my hair one length again and I was able to curl my hair for prom. Ever since then, I have been totally obsessed with hair. I love doing my own hair and I LOVE curling other people’s hair. I have always had thicker hair which was always on my side, but this made it a little harder to maintain. I like to invest in good quality products for my hair because although my hair is thick, I color it more frequently since I am blonde. Using and investing in better quality products allows my hair to grow without damage and breakage.
Hair Products that I use:
Shampoo and Conditioner: I use Pureology (conditioning/smooth)
Since I am blonde, I will throw in this purple shampoo once or twice a week to keep the blonde on the ashy side.
I will use It’s a 10 or Pureology spray right after I wash my hair and before I blow dry. These products help protect my hair and keep it smooth after I blow dry it. I am a big fan of both so you can’t go wrong using either one.
I will give my hair a good Olaplex hair treatment once a month. I am sure all my fellow blondes or anyone who colors their hair feel me on this one. Great investment and so worth it!
I am in the process of looking for a new curling iron and straightener since I think I have officially ran mine into the ground! I am totally open to your suggestions on curling irons/straighteners. This is the curling iron that I currently use: BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Spring Curling Iron. I also use the Chi for a straightener. I am not sure if I should purchase these again or try something new? I will keep you updated on this one. 🙂
Current hairstyles that I am loving:
As of now, I am really loving high or low ponytails. I can’t do a good pony on myself, but if I were to get my hair done for an event, I would ask them to do a ponytail. I think ponytails are a mix of sexy, classy and youthful. I am also someone who doesn’t love all of my hair back. A ponytail still allows for some hair to show, which is why I think I love them so much! So I would recommend a good pony as a hairstyle for ANY event.
Lately, I have been air drying my hair to leave it on the wavy/natural side. I love taking advantage of this in the summer. If I am having a bad hair day, I will throw it in a side braid which is def my “go-to”. I love a good and messy side braid! However, if I have the time in the morning, I obviously love a good wave or bigger curls in my hair.
I hope my daily hair routines and suggestions on hair products helped! Thanks again for the the requests you guys <3
Outfit Details:
I fell in love with this multi strip cardigan! The material is so soft and comfy. You can pop it on with any neutral shirt. This boutique is actually one of my favorites to shop at. I ordered the S/M option.
Jeans: I purchased these at nordstrom.
Green tank: ASOS and I purchased it in an XS.
Shoes: These are by Steve Madden but I can’t find them anywhere online/they are sold out at Nordstrom. Here are similar mules that are just as cute! I am usually a 7 1/2 in Steve Madden shoes. They run pretty true to size.
Enjoy your weekend!!! <3
ordering that Olaplex hair treatment ASAP 🙂
You will LOVE it!
